You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist in the Sensor Data Exploitation Division; Electromagnetic & Sensor Systems Department (B60) of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. NT-05 is equivalent to GS-13/14.
This position is salary capped GS-13 Step 10 (currently $145,617). See "Additional Information Section."
Duties
You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist, Systems Administrator ensuring the compliance of networks and IT systems.
You will research solutions to complex IT challenges and propose plans to management that remain within budget, personnel, facility, and program constraints.
You will independently troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, configure, and ensure the reliable operation of computer and network systems, software, and infrastructure.
You will support Division IT infrastructure planning, development, maintenance, and sustainment.
You will assess risk factors and advise on vulnerability to attack from a variety of sources and procedures and methods for protection of systems and applications.
You will promote awareness of security issues among management and ensure sound security principles are implemented.
You will control and protect all cryptographic material and administer applicable access programs.
You will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data.
You will lead efforts for network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security policies.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower band NT-04 (GS-11/12 grade level equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying Information Technology security principles to identify and correct vulnerabilities to ensure the compliance and availability of networks, systems, or data. Examples of qualifying experience may include: developing standard operating procedures and policies; conducting risk assessments to identify possible security violations; conducting functional and connectivity testing to ensure continuing operability; maintaining system hardware availability, functionality, integrity and efficiency; experience administering, troubleshooting, and fixing various Windows based systems to include specifically Windows 10/11 (required) and Linux (preferred) Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
