The Civil Division, Office of Management Operations is seeking a self-motivated and knowledgeable Space Management professional to work in a traditional work environment. The successful candidate will provide a variety of advisory services on space management programs and activities. This postion only offers situational telework. This is not a remote location position.

Duties

As a GS-0301-11 or GS-0301-12 Space Management Specialist, your duties may include, but will not be limited to, the following: Providing expert analysis and assistance in a number of areas including space planning, interior design, code compliance, construction management, renovations, physical security, and general facilities and space management. Planning and coordinating the administration and execution of Division programs related to the acquisition, release, construction, renovation, repair, improvement, and management of the Division's real property in the metropolitan area and in the field office locations. Surveying present and projected requirements for office and special purpose space. Creating interior designs and recommending office floor plans, layouts, and other accommodations that meet requirements in the most cost-effective manner. Reviewing architectural drawings and construction documents and recommending modifications to proposed build-outs as needed. Conducting research and studies necessary to determine actual space requirements, economy of use, and conformity of request with regulations and policies. Conducting surveys of facilities for compliance with physical security requirements. Requirements

  • You must be a United States Citizen or National.
  • You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Space Management Specialist, (GS-0301-11/12), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to the series and grade you are applying to. To qualify for the GS-11 position you must demonstrate that you have one of the following: - Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR - 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR - LL.M., if related OR At least one full year of specialized experience that is equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the federal service that demonstrates a knowledge of space management policies and procedures. The specialized experience should include: Reviewing occupant use of space in order to analyze space needs Assisting with space planning projects for customers. Using computer aided design software and space management software to assist with producing drawings, specifications, and other technical documents. Coordinating space management related construction projects and programs To qualify for the GS-12 position you must demonstrate that you have the following: At least one full year of specialized experience that is equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the federal service that demonstrates a broad knowledge of space management policies and procedures. The specialized experience should include: Creating electronic occupant space plans based on changes in organizational needs. Using computer aided design software and space management software to produce drawings, specifications, and other technical documents Providing analysis and assistance in areas such as space planning, physical security, construction management, and general facilities and space management. Conducting surveys of facilities for compliance with physical security requirements. You MUST meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/13/2023.
