Duties

Provides executive administrative and action officer support to the General Counsel (SES) and Deputy General Counsel (SES) to include managing senior leader requirements, logistics, travel, calendar, correspondence, communication, and other duties. Provides administrative and management assistance and advice to the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, Headquarters OGC, and other OGC operating elements. Concisely composes, prepares, guides and/or edits major briefings, speeches, interviews, letters, memoranda, presentations, and other means of communication, internal and external to the Agency. Provides direct support in developing and improving the effectiveness of administrative work methods and procedures to include increased communication from subordinate organization entities to the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel. Assists with managing policies and procedures, standardizing work product and processes, developing standardized tools and templates, and daily administration requirements (calendar, phones, meetings, equipment, supplies, etc.). Analyzes requirements of the OGC, coordinates with supporting staff as required, recommends strategies, and implements plans to improve the Agency’s capabilities and services, and assigns projects to subject matter experts within the organization. Oversees special projects, requests, and various reports to determine the best method and procedure for collecting, analyzing, and presenting information, and performs direct project management for select initiatives. Analysis involves critical review of objectives, coordination with program managers, maintaining progress statistics, operational impact, and resource utilization. Provides quick response for special projects, programs, and high-level assignments, with objectively based information for making decisions on the administrative and programmatic aspects of OGC’s operations and management.

Qualifications

To qualify for an Management Analyst GS-0343-12 your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Developing long range plans, strategies, and controls, and ensuring oversight and administration of programs. Providing reports and assessments on program objectives. Establishing, coordinating, and distributing guidelines and policies on subject programs. Experience in project management, formal or informal. Provision of administrative support, including scheduling, correspondence, and related duties. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
