Supervisory Store Associate, is responsible for all aspects of planning, scheduling, coordinating and controlling front end activities and personnel, and controlling all funds received and deposited daily as part of the front-end department operations.

Duties

Position responsibilities include: Serves as a first line supervisor for Store Associates. Directs front end operations including patron identification, customer inquiries, check out, and cash control. Directs non-perishable stock control including transporting items and stocking shelves. Directs meat display and case stocking. Directs produce inspection display and rotation. Directs accounts maintenance, supply, and computer operations This position offers promotion potential to a higher grade. To prepare you for the higher grade, work assignments will be progressively more complex. After meeting all qualifications and requirements for the next grade level and with your supervisor's recommendation, you may be promoted without further competition. Qualifications

You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume (and/or transcript if necessary) must clearly show that you have the qualifications described below. You can use experience, education, superior academic achievement, or a combination of experience and education to qualify. When using education to meet qualifications you must submit transcripts. Experience: One (1) year of demonstrated knowledge of retail procurement and distribution methods; principles, procedures, and techniques of retail food merchandising and retail food store management; and developments in commercial retail food store items, equipment, and practices (general experience) equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military. Examples of qualifying experience include: Plans, directs or assigns work for employees. Knowledgeable of multiple departments within a grocery store in order to evaluate work, provide instruction and conduct on the job training for workers. Carry out daily retail grocery store functions necessary to successfully execute store operations. OR Education: One (1) full year of graduate level education with major study in business administration, public administration, agricultural economics (food industry management), or other fields related to the position; or superior academic achievement. OR Combination of experience and education. To calculate the combination, divide your total months of experience by 12, then divide your graduate level semester hours by the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study or 18 and add the two percentages. If the total is 100%, you meet the minimum qualifications through a combination of experience and education.
