You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the UNDERSEA WARFARE DIRECTORATE of NAVSEA PMO.

Duties

You will plan and coordinate the logistical actions that support the ILS Certification Branch applying financial and logistics policies and procedures to effectively manage funding, sparing and system upgrades for Ohio Class SSBN / SSGN submarines. You will ensure material used in support of the Command and Control Systems (CCS) aboard OHIO Class submarines and the laboratories at Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Newport are supported through the NAVSEA 05 procurement process. You will conduct and manage the execution of spares funding obligations and expenditures. You will conduct inventories of material stored at the NUWC detachments at Trident Refit Facility Kings Bay and Intermediate Maintenance Facility Bangor, and the laboratories at NUWC Newport. You will have demonstrated knowledge of Navy acquisition, Integrated Product Support (IPS), and submarine sustainment to include regulations, policies, processes, budget management, Information Technology (IT) systems. You will comply with records management requirements, including security classification and handling restrictions. You will prepare Navy correspondence by authoring, editing, routing, marking, processing, tracking, electronic filing, research, retention, and destruction.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 pay band (or GS-13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector leading logistical management functions (e.g., cost, schedule, or performance efforts; budget management and spares funding; system upgrades) to support submarine sustainment efforts.
