You will serve as a Engineering Technician in the Research & Development Group/Weapon & Energetics Dept/Propulsion & Energetics Div/Energetic Material Research Branch of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
Duties
You will set up energetic tests in accordance with written test procedures, standard operating procedures and blueprints.
You will use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and other industrial equipment.
You will be responsible for inventory management of energetic materials.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
Qualifications
To qualify you must meet the basic education requirement and the following:
DT-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DT-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Setting up energetic tests in accordance with written test procedures, standard operating procedures and blueprints; 2) Checking and installing sensors, data lines and data acquisition systems including thermocouples, accelerometers, pressure transducers, load cells, strain gauges, and linear variable differential transformers; 3) Operating specialty equipment such as forklifts, man lift, and cranes; 4) Troubleshooting instrumentation and electrical problems.
DT-02:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DT-01 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Working knowledge of written test procedures, standard operating procedures and blueprints; 2) Checking and installing sensors, data lines and data acquisition systems including thermocouples, accelerometers, pressure transducers, load cells, strain gauges, and linear variable differential transformers; 3) Operating specialty equipment such as forklifts, man lift, and cranes.
