This position is located in Management Directorate, Office of Human Capital and Training, Academy Training Center.
As a Supervisory Operations Support Specialist, you will provide direction for a variety of human resource and management services essential to the direction and operation of the USCIS Academy Training Center.
Duties
Supervise a team of Operations Support Specialists personnel who plan, develop and manage the Academy wide functions related to human capital management.
Serve as the technical subject matter expert in human resource and training programs related to planning, organizing, and implementing workforce initiatives for the organization.
Effectively communicate with senior-level officials in the organization to develop strategies for hiring, employee relations, and performance management.
Interpret and apply policy and directives, develop technical guidance, and provide recommendations to management regarding personnel matters.
Carry out EEO policies and program activities, employee discipline, resolve complaints and grievances not requiring referral to higher authority and recommend solutions for those referred to higher organizational levels.
Qualifications
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 11/09/2023.
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 11/09/2023.
GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Serving as a subject matter expert on a variety of administrative programs relating to managing a workforce, such as human resources, equal employment opportunity programs, reasonable accommodations, Labor and Employee Relations (LER), time and attendance, training, and/or management analysis
Coordinating and planning WorkLife Services and employee programs such as training and employee development
Coordinating and planning workloads to accomplish organizational priorities, goals and objectives
Advising management on strategies to improve programs and procedures
Applying federal human resources laws, rules, and regulations related to personnel management
Evaluating administrative functions and preparing findings, recommendations, and narrative/data reports
