About the Position: Serves as Assistant Program Manager responsible for managing new systems through advanced development, production and fielding; or fielded systems undergoing extensive modification, retrofit, or rebuild; or specified categories of critical problem issues associated with one or more fielded systems.
Duties
Develops plans for accomplishment of assigned projects.
Reviews and evaluates data relating to short and long term technical management, financial objectives and requirements to keep abreast of program progress and anticipated problems.
Evaluates pertinent data from points of contact to provide ready, accurate and complete response to inquiries on the status of all assigned programs from Congress.
Serves as authoritative consultant and speaks for the PM at all levels.
Oversees coordination between assigned program(s) and other systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position may perform limited supervisory functions in the absence of the Project Manager or Product Manager.
- Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Program Management certification within 60 months as of entrance on duty.
- Must maintain and obtain a Secret clearance.
- This position requires submission of a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.

To qualify, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. This typically includes work performed at the next lower grade/level (NH-02/GS-11) position in the federal service.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent) level in the Federal service that includes: 1) Executing cost, schedule, performance, and risk activities within the acquisition life-cycle framework; 2) Coordinating acquisition support activities necessary to meet program objectives; and 3) Performing periodic reviews of financial execution to include obligations and expenditure.
