About the Position: Serves as a Supervisory Deputy Product Manager (DPM) for Medium Caliber Ammunition product office. Assists the Product Manager in an office responsible for Army and DoD readiness and modernization of all direct fire medium caliber capability supporting multiple Army modernization efforts. Leads an internal staff of 32 providing direction to over 140 employees for the cost, schedule, performance and technical risk for medium caliber valued at over $3.2B over the FYDP.

Duties

Manages all aspects of acquisition to include development, testing, system integration, production, fielding, sustainment and product improvements with a multi-million dollar annual budget. Leads and coordinates the combined efforts of the Army industrial team in expediting assigned program responsibilities. Manages a government team consisting of assigned civilian and military personnel, matrix and support civilian and military personnel, and the efforts of principal contractor teams. Conducts briefings at all echelons of the OSD, HQDA,and if required, Congress. Performs the full range of administrative and technical supervisory duties.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
  • Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level Advanced Level in the Acquisition Career Field Program Management within 48 months of entrance on duty.
  • This position requires submission of a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position may require a mobility or rotation agreement as a condition of employment.
