About the Position: Joint Program Executive Office Armaments & Ammunition leads and manages the research, development, production, procurement and equipping of lethal armament and protective systems to provide Joint Warfighters with overmatch capabilities to defeat current and future threats world-wide.

Duties

Serves as an Assistant Product Manager for a Product Manager/Director, providing advice to higher-level management on all matters relating to assigned systems and/or related mission equipment. Responsible for overseeing the total life cycle of acquisition of non- standard ammunition and weapon systems with focus in areas such as contract development and management production and planning for delivery. Plans work to be accomplished, sets priorities, and assigns deadlines. Evaluates work of team members, gives advice/counsel, and provides instruction on both technical and administrative matters. Leads a team of technical personnel by ensuring compliance with office policies and standards, and quality of technical work such as technical data packages (TDPs), engineering change proposals (ECPs), request for variances (RFV’s), and lot acceptance test reports. Review program documentation and makes decisions concerning long-range plans, policies and schedules to improve the programmatic and technical effectiveness of the management team. Maintains communications with numerous non-standard customers to combine requirements for efficiencies and economies of scale. Develops budget forecasts to support labor and travel for programs within the organization.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Advanced certification within 48 months of entrance on duty.
  • Must file a confidential Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450 upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011.
  • One year probationary period may be required.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03/GS-13).
