This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent will serves as a Lead IT Specialist with expertise in data management
and data governance and plays a critical role in ensuring effective data management practices, compliance, and data governance frameworks within Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO).
Duties
As a Lead Information Technology Specialist (DATAMGT) at the GS-2210-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Lead DTMO in developing and implementing data management strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize data quality, integrity, security, and accessibility.
Utilizes expertise in data governance to guide the organization in aligning data management practices with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Leads the development and implements systems to oversee critical functions and program evaluation.
Provides technical SQL/TSQL, PL/SQL stored procedures, SQL scripts, extract transform load (ETL) and online transactions processing (OLAP) Tool and triggers to build data warehouses and data marts and develop reports, dashboards, and visualization tools and Business Intelligence (BI) products.
Provides technical guidance for database software assurance and configuration management for the DTMO IT infrastructure. Establishes mechanisms to monitor and report on the performance of data management initiatives.
Manages and approves internal and external stakeholder data requests.
Collaborates with security and privacy teams to define data security controls and access policies. Ensures data privacy requirements are integrated into data management practices and governance frameworks. Monitors data access and usage to prevent unauthorized
disclosure or breaches.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
Oversees data governance to guide an organization in aligning data management practices with industry best practices and DoD regulatory requirements.
Applies SQL/TSQL,PL/SQL stored procedures, SQL scripts, extract transform load (ETL) and online transactions processing (OLAP) Tool and triggers to build data warehouses and data marts and develop reports, dashboards, visualization tools and Business Intelligence (BI) products.
Maintains Department of Defense (DoD) security requirements and compliance standards, including the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
