You will serve as a Financial Management Analyst in the Disbursing, Travel & Payroll (N84), and Compliance and Travel (N842) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.
Duties
You will formulate goals, plans, procedures and work plans supporting the development and execution of the Audit Readiness program.
You will evaluate Defense Finance and Accounting System (DFAS), MSC, and supporting agency’s accounting policies and procedures to identify potential audit deficiencies.
You will plan, organize, and document financial improvement plans to address weaknesses.
You will identify, coordinate and oversee corrective action plans to address financial system deficiencies.
You will evaluate financial data processing of support budget, logistical and personnel systems to ensure consistent application of CFO standards.
You will perform and coordinates statistics, reconciliations, and extraction of data from automated reports to develop and
maintain a variety of diversified special and recurring reports.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This is a Financial Management Level II certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
(GS-12) Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized Experience is defined as:
Experienced in developing, tracking, and analyzing key performance indicators at all financial budgeting and execution levels. Must be experienced in identifying trends and problem areas that could have an impact on meeting mission requirements.
Experienced in conducting studies related to the organizations financial efficiency and productivity and in preparing and presenting briefings on study's progress and results to the Division Director. Must be experienced in selecting appropriate methods of financial research and in compiling data into customized financial reports for specific audiences.
Expert knowledge of Travel management and experience utilizing the Defense Travel System (DTS). Incumbent must possess experience with administrative and financial management systems and identifying, analyzing, and resolving a range of related travel issues. Also, experience with interpreting federal travel regulations, examining new or revised regulations and implementing the changes into existing environment.
Experienced in developing, proposing, and implementing organizational policies and procedures, to include standard operating procedures (SOP). Incumbent should have experience with Management Control Program/internal controls
