The incumbent of this position will serve as an Operating System Subject Matter Expert (SME) IT Specialist supporting the maintenance, troubleshooting and field support for the Airport Surveillance Radar Model 9 (ASR-9) system. The Operating System SME IT Specialist performs onsite and phone support to first and second level FAA and military personnel.
Duties
The incumbent is responsible for multiple, varying, and complex assignments under the limited direction of a manager that may include troubleshooting radar and associated equipment assemblies, sub-assemblies, modular and circuit elements remotely or on-site for deficiencies and malfunctions, as well as, installation and integration, test or evaluation, of ASR-9 System hardware or software modifications. duties usually include test modifications (i.e. removal, develop and test procedures), development of troubleshooting aids, planning and organizing work, managing resources (time, labor, and project fund) for assigned projects or program objectives.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the FV-J (FG/GS-14) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I (FG/GS 13). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized Experience includes: troubleshooting ASR-9 and associated equipment assemblies, sub-assemblies, modular and circuit elements remotely or on-site for deficiencies and malfunctions;experience solving difficult technical problems and working with the ASR-9 radar system providing second level field support to include phone or onsite; convey technical information (including processes, steps, or procedures) through development or maintenance of technical documentation; manage resources (time, labor, and project fund) for assigned projects or program objectives.ANDIndividuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.1.
