Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for support services duties. Typical work assignments will include:
Plans and procures support services and equipment.
Provides support services in relation to space management, purchasing supplies and equipment, office security, internal controls, health and safety
Serving as action officer for senior staff in administering a wide variety of administrative support activities, e.g., office moves, reorganizations, and communication system changes
Providing direct administrative support to senior officials.
Projects and analyzes space needs based on proposed initiatives, staff changes, and technology improvements.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifications
GS-9: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: assisting in the areas of space management, procurement of supplies and equipment, office/building security, internal controls, and health and office safety services.
Education: One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g. Business, Finance): Master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B or J.D., if related.
Combining Education and Experience: Combination of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 1 full year.GS-11: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: performing duties in the areas of formulating and executing a support services program in the areas of facilities, space management, procurement of office equipment, property, building/space security, internal controls, and health and office safety.
Education: One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g. Business, Finance): Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M, if related.
Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified in the table, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9 and GS-11. (When crediting education that requires specific course work, prorate the number of hours of related courses required as a proportion of the total education to be used.)
GS-12: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must posses the specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 levelSpecialized experience is defined as performing analysis on management issues; identifies issues in need of study; develops analytical methods and prepare option papers to present findings; recommends reallocation of resources or increase automation; analyzes and evaluates current work methods and procedures; utilizing manpower, use of equipment and management controls to develop long and short term goals, provides assistance to senior officials, providing a variety of support services to an organization which include space management, purchasing supplies and equipment (purchasing items costing more than $2500); requesting proposals for supplies and equipment; reviewing bids for supplies and equipment; responsible for property security and inventory; and/or maintaining and overseeing a Records program for an organization. Specialized experience also includes overseeing building renovation; supervision mail services and reproduction services, developing inventory programs for an organization and/or managing a procurement program for an organization.
To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)
