About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at FORT EISENHOWER.
The incumbent will serve as a Systems Administrator (SA) for the installation's Stand Alone Network Enterprise Center (SANEC).
Duties
Serve as a System Administrator (SA) on multiple Enterprise information systems running Microsoft Windows Server, and Linux operating systems; various Enterprise applications to include, SharePoint, and Domain Naming Services (DNS).
Plan, coordinate and conduct the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
Manage accounts, network rights, access to systems and equipment, and administer associated systems passwords.
Provide technical advice and assistance on the design, implementation, maintenance and operation of diverse operating systems, information systems, and applications (e.g., Windows, Linux, Oracle DBMS, SQL, Print Servers, SharePoint).
Ensuring systems availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Required to complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification within 6 months of employment for this position as outlined in DoD Manual (DoDM) 8140.03 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program
- Selectee must pass screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment, and subsequent periodic drug screening will be required thereafter.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- Work requires the employee to rotate through supported facilities and/or travel to regionally supported sites.
- May be required to work overtime, holidays, or weekends, be on call, or work shift work based on mission needs.
- Position may be designated Mission Essential.
- Temporary duty (TDY) business travel is required approximately 25 percent of the time.
- This position requires a medical examination. The incumbent is required to lift up to 50 lbs.

To qualify your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by: installing or modified hardware, operating systems (i.e., Windows and Linux), or applications software (i.e., SharePoint, Oracle and SQL); providing support services for information technology products and services; and, ensuring all backup/recovery storage environments meet performance standards.
The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:
(1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others.

Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: convincingly conveying complex information to customers; presenting thoughts that are well-organized and demonstrating confidence in the facts and ideas; adjusting style when working with individuals with different levels of understanding; using various methods to explain and convey information.
