You will serve as a LEAD TRAINING SPECIALIST in the COMMANDER, NAVAL SURFACE & MINE WARFARE DEV CENTER DEPARTMENT of NAVSURFMINEWARDEVCEN DET SAN DIEGO.
Duties
You will direct day-to-day functions of the directorate, supervising active duty personnel, civilian, and contract support within the command.
You will serve as the Senior Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Tactical Training Lead, Technical Advisor, and curriculum manager.
You will oversee planning and execution of shore-based responsive training, pre-deployment training, and periodic assessments of the IAMD Warfare Tactics Instructors (WTIs) program.
You will recommend and implement changes that lead to improved at-sea performance in air defense tactics and combat systems employment.
You will deal directly with senior staff of the Chief of naval Operations (CNO), Commander, U.S, Fleet Forces Command and various Flag Officers and SES.
You will provide integrated training to ships and squadrons that better prepares them to participate in intermediate and advanced training/certification in accordance with the Optimized Fleet Response Plan.
You will develop, plan, coordinate, and conduct all WTI courses of instruction in Anti-Submarine/Surface Warfare, Integrated Air and Missile Defense, Amphibious Warfare, and Mine Warfare.
You will provide expert review of IAMD warfare area tactical training products, lectures, and curricula.
You will instruct Officers on IAMD warfare area tactics, primarily in the IAMD WTI COI, IADC and FADO.
You will be required to identify, counsel, and mentor any student that may require remediation.
You will participate in IADC and IAMD WTI graded events, and all IAMD WTI subject matter expert focus area presentations and final qualification boards.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Evaluating Integrated Air and Missile Defense programs by planning and developing realistic training scenarios (i.g., Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures) to improve the Technical capabilities of Ship Self-Defense Systems.
