This position is located in the Office of Communications, Graphic Design and Printing Branch of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of design, layout and production of print, electronic, and social media material. Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.  Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify, candidates must meet one of the following requirements: CG-9: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent the grade 7 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience assisting with planning, designing, and developing visual communications, consulting and advising clients to determine visual information product needs, and utilizing graphic design/desktop publishing software to perform job. Or A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. Or COMBINATION of graduate level education as described above beyond the first full year of graduate education, and specialized experience as described below, that together meet the qualification requirements for this position. CG-11:  Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent the grade 9 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience planning, designing, and developing visual communications, consulting and advising clients to determine visual information product needs, establishing milestones for the various stages in the design process and keeping the client informed as the process evolves and utilizing graphic design/desktop publishing software to perform job. Or A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M. (if related) in the following fields: commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Or COMBINATION of graduate level education as described above, and the specialized experience as described above, that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.
