This position serves as a Government Information Specialist in the Security and Hazardous Materials (ASH) organization. Applying policies, programs, and procedures to ensure organizational compliance with the FOIA and Privacy Act. The I band will serve as the lead for the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) program within ASH.
Duties
Performs multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of a manager or higher graded professional.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
- Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
Qualifications
FV-H: To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-G, FG/GS-10/11 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.FV-I: To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-H, FG/GS-12 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Specialized Experience is defined as:FV-H:Experience utilizing FOIA laws, rules, and regulations to provide guidance to management and staff; ANDExperience gathering and analyzing data to produce reports for use by targeted audiences; ANDExperience tracking and monitoring data to identify trends and ensure assigned program activities are accomplished within established timeframes.FV-I:Experience working as FOIA or Privacy specialist; ANDExperience reviewing records pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act to ensure compliance with laws, regulations and procedures related to the protection and release of FOIA and PA information and providing guidance to managers and organization points-of contacts in interpreting regulations orders and policies; ANDReviewing and responding to FOIA requests and making and implementing recommendations for process improvements.You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history.
