You will serve as an ELECTRONICS INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC LEADER in the Weapons Repair Department of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.

Duties

You will coordinate work assignments and provide technical assistance to lower/same grade employees or military personnel assigned on a task basis to assist them. You will work with the supervisor to plan the use of equipment, facilities, and materials to accomplish a variety of work within established refit cycles, maintenance periods and other availabilities. You will work under the direct supervision of an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic Shop Supervisor. In the absence of the Shop Supervisor the Work leader will assume the duties and responsibilities of the Supervisor. You will coordinate with technical and professional personnel on matters affecting operational specifications and changes of equipment; e.g. validating technical data and test programs results, reporting discrepancies, and recommending solutions. You will be required to accomplish other related tasks within the department as deemed necessary by the Shop Supervisor.

  • This position maybe designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) position in specialty area 41 (Customer Service and Technical Support)and complies with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to qualify for inclusion into the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • Light to moderate physical exertion is required in lifting and carrying items weighing from 10 to 40 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 110 pounds with assistance.
  • May be required to work overtime and on submarines at sea for short periods of time (sea trials, etc.).
  • May be required to travel on temporary assigned duty for specific periods of time.
  • May be required to be CPR and AED certified.
