About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W0VAAA US ARMY INSTALLATION MGMT CMD. This position is located at the United States Army Installation Management Command, USAG Fort Stewart, DPTMS in Fort Stewart, GA.

Duties

Serves as a Security Specialist in a garrison Security Office within the Installation Management Command (IMCOM). Serves as a Security Specialist for one or more security programs (e.g. Industrial Security, Information Security, Personnel Security or their associated training requirements) defined by the AR 380-series regulations. Provides definitive technical advice and assistance to the Garrison Commander regarding the establishment of a comprehensive security program that does not unduly hamper the command's operations. Administers policies, practices and metrics which reflect the security posture of the garrison. Conducts analyses to identify program issues and develops/implements remedial actions. Advises the supervisor of recommended policy or procedural changes. Evaluates security program resources within the installation and initiates programming, budgeting and manpower actions to address requirements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and then continue to maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Special Background Investigation for the duties required.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required for approximately 15% of the time.
  • This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program. Requires the incumbent to obtain the SFPC certification within their first two years of employment.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Personnel SecurityPlanning and EvaluatingSecurity Program Management Accountabilities Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
