About the Position: This position is located in the Healthcare Informatics Division at Evans Army Community Hospital (EACH), located at Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, CO. This is a TERM position not exceed 13 months. It is time-limited and may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. This position may NOT be converted to permanent career or career-conditional appointment.

Duties

Responsible for all Department of Defense Electronic Health Record (EHR) related training to all assigned personnel at assigned Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) as required. Conduct class orientation to acquaint students with course of instruction, training objectives, standards, and policies. Follow approved lesson plans to ensure course material is properly delivered to participants. Prepare written correspondence using office automation systems. Review and evaluate effectiveness of performance and quality of results of the training processes and products through analysis of all training documents, reports, studies, and publications.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A pre-employment physical may be required.
  • This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. Applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Immunization screening is required.
  • Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
  • Position is designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Training and Development. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (36 semester hours) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Curriculum DevelopmentCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Instructional Delivery and Learner DevelopmentLearning and Program Evaluation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
