Duties
Liaisons between travelers, Department of State and OCONUS Embassies on submission and tracking of passports and visas.
Manages and maintains the DCMA country/theater clearance program, providing detailed guidance and instructions to employees at all levels in the agency on country-specific requirements for proper country/theater clearance.

Implements processes, prepares business practices and updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as they relate to travel, passports and visas.
Maintains online portal with up-to-date information for maximum dissemination of passport and visa requirements.
Maintains consistency with policies and procedures for the Government Purchase Card Program.
Requirements

- Security Requirements: Non-Critical Sensitive with Secret Access
- Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, where reciprocity cannot be applied; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Passport and Visa Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Collecting and processing information to assist employees in obtaining an official passport and visa.
Serving as a liaison with the DoD passport office and civilian personnel.
Interpreting and remaining current in all regulations and requirements of the Card Holder Government Purchase Card (GPC) program.
Utilizing the foreign clearance guide to work directly with the State Department and/or appropriate Embassies in obtaining country clearance approvals.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
