Duties
You will respond to all structure fires, operate hydrants, lay hose lines, perform ladder operations, operates nozzles and other extinguishing equipment to effect fire suppression.
You will respond to all medical emergencies and provide advanced patient assessment and treatment for victims of fire, sudden illness, accidental injuries, childbirth, and other events requiring medical intervention.
You will teach monthly pre-hospital care continuing education (CE) classes to fellow Firefighters and the public as assigned.
You will respond to all hazardous materials incidents as required.
You will respond to all technical search and rescue emergencies, maintaining proficiency in urban search and rescue techniques and related duties not restricted to, auto extrication, high/low angle rescue, and other similar search and rescue duties.
You will participate in all drills and classroom training to maintain level of proficiency to perform required duties.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final CONFIDENTIAL clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You will be required to work a 72-hour work week and subject to recall during off duty hours.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain Inland County Emergency Medical Agency (ICEMA) certification within 60 days of hire.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current American Heart Association certificate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid California State Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic (EMT-P) license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain DoD Firefighter I IFSAC, DoD Firefighter II IFSAC, or Pro Board.
- Required to work a seventy-two (72) hour workweek, on a twenty-four (24) hour shift. Subject to overtime and recall during off duty hours.
- Misuse of Government IT systems is cause for disciplinary action, including removal.
Qualifications
GS-09: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing fire suppression and prevention, emergency medical treatment and ambulance transport services, emergency communications, and public education and training services.
GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing team support in extinguishing fires, ventilate fire areas, conducting search and rescue operations, performing emergency medical services, and operating a variety of firefighting equipment.
