Duties
You will respond to emergencies as a member of an Engine Company, Truck Company, Rescue Company, Hazardous Materials Team and/or a Rescue Team.
You will participate in daily training and instruction classes covering all phases of fire protection, fire prevention and emergency medical services.
You will act as the driver/operator of an emergency response pumper/ladder, brush fire fighting, ambulance, hazardous material response, or other rescue vehicle as required.
You will respond all hazardous materials incidents as required.
You will perform daily preventative maintenance inspections of firefighting transport vehicles, tools, and medical equipment.
You will respond to all medical emergencies and provides advanced patient assessment and treatment for victims of fire, sudden illness, accident injuries, childbirth, and other events requiring medical intervention.
Requirements

- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid State of California or equivalent driver’s license with a Firefighter Endorsement within thirty (30) days of appointment.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment for the duration of the work shift.
- Must possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license and be able to obtain and maintain a Government Emergency Vehicle Operators License within 90 days of employment.
- This is a drug test designated position. The incumbent is required to pass a pre-employment drug test and random testing thereafter.
- This position has been designated Emergency-Essential. In the event of an emergency the incumbent must report to work unless otherwise instructed by management. Incumbent may also be instructed to work during non-duty hours.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to work a 72-hour work week and subject to recall during off duty hours.

Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS=-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing fire suppression and prevention, emergency medical treatment and ambulance transport services, emergency communications, and public education and training services.
