About the Position: The position is located a US Army Central Command Group, Shaw AFB, SC.
Duties
Develops and maintains contacts and working relationships with Congressional staffs, and other organizations that are critical partners in US Army Central programs and projects.
Provides advice and guidance to the Command Group and their spouses by serving as a source of ready information and institutional knowledge.
Keeps officials informed of ongoing actions taken or decisions rendered by the DCG on matters that may, in his absence, be brought to their attention
Prepares and executes trip itineraries, arranges travel schedules and funding requirements, and makes necessary travel reservations.
Prepares and collects materials for presentations, meetings, conferences, and ceremonies.
Serves as personal staff advisor, assistant and consultant on executive administrative matters.
Personally receives visitors and telephone calls (from high ranking military and civilian officials in DoD, DA, and other Governmental agencies, the Congressional Staff, and senior representatives of industry and the general public).
Requirements
- Business travel up to 25% of the time.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance based upon a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- May be required to work irregular hours during crisis action, contingency deployments, and other short notice operations.
- Performance of duties may require travel by military and/or commercial transportation, including land and air.
- This is a designated drug testing position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) executing protocol related aspects of social and official functions to include distinguished visitors, ceremonies, and conferences; 2) providing executive level administrative support services utilizing various automated systems such as US Army Evaluation Entry System (EES), the Defense Travel System (DTS), and the Aircraft and Personnel Automated Clearance System; 3) conducting research and studies to convey the status of various programs; 4) maintains daily planner and de-conflicts scheduling. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
