You will serve as a Lead Quality Assurance Specialist (Shipbuilding) in the Electrical/Electronics/Nuclear Special Processes & Procurements Division; Quality Assurance Department of SUPSHIP. If selected, you will serve as a Quality Assurance (QA) Program functional area/process audit Team Leader.

Duties

You will plan, schedule, and execute of all elements of the NAVSEA mandated Contract Quality Assurance Program with respect to assigned QA Program functional area. You will coach the team in selection and application of appropriate problem solving methods and techniques, provide advice on work methods, practices and procedures, and assist the team in identifying parameters of a viable solution. You will plan, administer, and evaluate a comprehensive Contract Quality Assurance program to ensure that the Contractor meets responsibilities for product and process quality for highly advanced ship construction, modernization and repair work. You will conduct on-site audits and surveillance (on ship and within production shops) of installation, fabrication, and testing activities. You will analyze quality data for assigned functional area(s) to determine a quality profile.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector "Coordinating or conducting Quality Assurance (QA) functions (e.g. audits, inspections, surveillance) in support of shipbuilding, ship modernization, or ship repair."
