You will serve as a Lead Quality Assurance Specialist (Shipbuilding) in the Quality Assurance (QA) Department, Piping/Mechanical Fabrication and SUBSAFE/Deep Submergence Systems (DSS) - Scope Certification (SOC) Division, Code 320 of SUPSHIP.

Duties

You will articulate and communicate to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion. You will prepare reports and maintain records of work accomplishments and administrative information. You will plan, develop, organize, administer, evaluate, coordinate and implement a comprehensive Contract Quality Assurance Program (CQAP). You will review results from in-process inspections and statistical techniques used for evaluations. You will review documentation received to determine audits required. You will determine corrective actions required as a result of a document review, evaluation, surveillance or audit.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level/pay band GS-11 in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing quality assurance functions (e.g., contractor surveillance, audits, inspections, testing) to support construction, conversion or repair work for ships or submarines.
