You will serve as a LEAD QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) in the Piping/Mechanical Fabrication/Installation/Testing Division (360), Quality Assurance Department (300) of SUPSHIP. You will as the Team Leader be responsible for the execution of all QA program assessments, evaluations, audits trend analysis and corrective actions.
Duties
You will plan, schedule and execute all elements of the mandated Contract Administration Quality Assurance Program (CAQAP).
You will ensure organizations strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the teams strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services.
You will lead team in identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established work flow, skill level and occupational specialization.
You will train or arrange for the training of team members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish tasks or projects.
You will plan for new or modified contracts including coordination of resource needs with the appropriate Program Coordinator for the assembly and coordination of a contract review team.
You will review the results received from in process inspections and statistical techniques that were used for evaluations.
You will ensure that designated document reviews are completed by the QAS, identifying the necessary resources for conducting the actual review itself, for coordination of the timeframes.
You will maintain a current quality profile and will be obtained by conducting on-site audits and surveillance (on ship and with production shops of installation, fabrication and testing activities.
You will prepare detailed reports summarizing factual data, discussing methods used; problems analyzed and states conclusions and recommendations.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing quality assurance work conducting audits and surveillance of installation, fabrication, or testing activities on ships.
