You will serve as a SUPERVISORY QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the Preservation, Critical Coatings, Outfitting and Habitability Division (340), Quality Assurance Department (300) of SUPSHIP.
Duties
You will report to the Quality Assurance Director for interpreting broad policy guidance of higher authority into implementing policies, procedures and systems which will ensure that Naval ships built and overhauled by contractor meet requirements.
You will plan, organize, develop, evaluate and implement changes necessary to ensure a quality assurance program.
You will be responsible for designing a quality assurance plan that includes a surveillance plan, special projects, quality related studies and investigation of quality problems related to the quality of products or the contractor's quality program.
You will carry out Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and communicating support of these policies to subordinates.
You will make decisions on administrative and intricate technical problems presented by subordinate team leaders.
You will collaborate with departments in the contractor’s organization and the supervisor’s office to negotiate, decide on and/or coordinate substantive planned inspection programs and quality assurance programs.
You will determine the number and type of personnel and resources needed to meet the division goals and objectives.
You will develop budget requirements for overtime, training, travel and equipment.
You will prepare and coordinates periodic reports on quality assurance functions and recommend actions for support of items in which quality assurance and projects share an interest.
You will prepare and conduct meetings to ensure effective use of data evaluation information in response to the contractors observed performance.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading quality assurance assessments, surveillances, or audits on shipbuilding construction, maintenance or repair operations.
