Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist you will use your knowledge of and experience with the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Directs and coordinates of assignments, projects, problems to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion. Works with personnel in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques, providing advice on work methods practices and procedures, and assisting in identifying the parameters of a viable solution.
Serves as technical advisor providing expert advice and consultation on a wide range of topics affecting the overall management and programmatic oversight of operational activities of public health and emergency response programs. Represents ASPR and DHHS in professional meetings and policy groups in matters of Continuity of Operations activities.
Provides leadership in the development, execution, and improvement of HHS emergency operational plans, including collaboration with other Departments on the development of their operational plans and associated annexes for events and response.
Ensures continuation of DHHS' Primary Mission Essential Functions during a COOP event, maintaining readiness of the DHHS alternate facilities for potential COOP events.
Develops and reviews a variety of plans, procedures, and guidance for DHHS Op/Staff Divisions to ensure COOP readiness.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing at least 3 of the following:
Coordinating Emergency readiness activities and training.
Developing and implementing policy and contributes to the development of programs and procedures.
Developing procedures, briefings and creating emergency management related documents and templates.
Conducting briefings, negotiating with partners and hosting large working groups and meetings.
