About the Position: This position is under the supervision of the Supply Chain Integration Directorete Order Management Division, Distribution & Inventory Execution Branch.
Duties
Leads a team of personnel in performing supply duties. Uses Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system knowledge to advise team on performing inventory management duties.
Leads team to coordinate the annual inventory for all accountable government property, including physical inventory and validation of all assets, verification of transferred assets, and reviewing all lost or stolen assets.
Instructs the team to validate automated asset tracking systems to ensure data records reflect current inventory balances and report unaccounted assets using appropriate procedures.
Utilizes supply system experience to advise team when conducting root-cause analysis to resolve discrepancies in ERP system during government property reconciliation.
Utilizes a partnering approach with the acquisition community to integrate supply planning from the initiation of product development to culmination of life.
Ensure the Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements are properly planned, resourced, and implemented.
Coordinates with counterparts, other supply chain staff, contractors, and other (DoD) Officials reconciling inventory positions, resolving stock transport orders (STOs), and ensuring all is accurately recorded in the automated information systems.
Supports the development of and implementation of outcome-based inventory support strategies that optimize supply chain management principles to enhance system readiness and life cycle cost affordability.
Influences system design by evaluating inventory planning principles to the supply support plan which will allow the Program/Product Manager's to provide timely, affordable, effective, and best-value product support throughout the system life cycle
Establishes processes to track returned items for refurbishment, repair, or disposal.
Monitors quality of data inputs and outputs to ERP systems and recommends system changes to improve users' timeliness, accuracy, and utility of inventory information.
Manages and delivers repairable products and services through the IPS elements to enable and sustain systems for operational readiness.
Supports the planning, development, implementation, and management of effective and affordable product support strategies for inventory supply planning throughout the life cycle.
Leads a team of distribution specialists. Ensures the command's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans, and work products.
Communicates team assignments, actionable events, milestones, issues under review, and deadlines. Develops plans, policies, and procedures and exercises overall team leadership for supply chain-related matters.
Advises the team in selecting and applying appropriate problem-solving methods and provides recommendations on work methods.
Monitors the status, quality, and progress of work assigned to the team and reports the findings to the supervisor and/or leadership. Evaluates overall team performance.
Leads team in evaluating strengths and weaknesses to determine areas for improvement and resolves simple, informal employee complaints and refers others to the supervisor.
Requirements
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Appointment to this position may be subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

To qualify applicants must possess on one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level GS-12. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Coordinating with stakeholders to determine order release priority; 2) Developing reports and/or statistics for a variety of audience for operational rates and impacts to supply chain; 3) Knowledgeable of logistic policies and regulations. Assist in training staff on policy implementation and best practices; AND 4.) Providing recommendations on the priorities of supply items using a wide array of factors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
