About the Position: This Security Officer GS-0080-12 position is located with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division, Fort Worth District in Fort Worth, Texas.
Duties
Establish the program according to Federal and Department of Defense regulations.
Make surveys of District projects and facilities to ensure compliance with statutory/regulatory requirements and accepted security standards.
Engage individuals in difficult situations and provide expert advice to other Federal, state, and local law enforcement officials.
Research and implements latest developments in security methods and devices by review of technical publications and independent research.
Assess cumulative findings of security evaluations and other surveys and incident reports to identify systemic issues/trends and recommends corrective actions.
Administer the personnel security program to include requests and follow-up for full field or background investigations.
Serve as the Action Officer for various critical Policy Memorandums and Executive Guidance throughout the districts area of Responsibility/Operations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:
1) Conducting security inspections, threat assessments, investigations, or surveys for a security or law enforcement office.; AND
2) Overseeing multiple security and/or emergency management program(s) such as: OPSEC, cyber, personnel and information security, physical security, anti-terrorism, natural disaster, or national emergency for a civil works organization.; AND
3) Corresponding and advising orally or written with various levels of internal and external officials to include during difficult situations such as: various critical Policy Memorandums, Executive Guidance, policy development, security plans, and threat assessments.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
