This position is located in the Division of Finance, responsible for improving the accuracy of assessment base data reporting from insured financial institutions in order to collect accurate insurance premiums and other fees.

Duties
Facilitates the implementation and maintenance of the quarterly assessment processes to ensure that accurate invoices are available to insured institutions via FDICconnect within prescribed timeframes.
Develops and maintains the Assessment Information Management System (AIMS) to ensure compliance with assessment-related Corporate policies and procedures.
Provides customer service to senior officials of banking organizations, their legal representatives, and other interested parties, including answering the most complicated questions and providing information pertaining to the most complex assessment payments and processes.
Handles the most complex, technical assessment issues, to include assessment appeals, which have broad application. This includes application of major assessment concepts to national or very large-size regional banking organizations, often involving millions of dollars. Is considered an expert on specific assessment matters.
Directs the review of proposed changes and modifications to the Report of Condition; Advance Notices of Proposed Rulemaking; Proposed Rules; Final Rules; and Financial Institution Letters to ensure assessment reporting requirements are met. Independently resolves issues through direct contact with division and office senior staff members and with representatives of the FFIEC.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify for the CG-14: Applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG-13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized Experience is experience implementing day-to-day maintenance of the quarterly assessment process using FDIC computer systems, particularly the technical aspects of the Assessment Information Management System (AIMS) and of FDICconnect; analyzing requirements and objectives for improving operations; and evaluating new or modified legislation to determine the impact on the assessment program.
