This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command. The incumbent will be responsible for serving as the Business Operations Specialist and technical advisor to the Director of Acquisition for US Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM).
Duties
As a BUSINESS OPERATIONS SPECIALIST at the NH-1101-4 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Developing, adapting, modifying, and applying management principles and techniques to define, clarify, and/or resolve problems, and negotiating and defending findings and alternative solutions to management.
Applying qualitative and quantitative methods for assessment and improvement of various programs in an organization.
Demonstrating general knowledge of the Department of Defense acquisition mission, roles, and functions to coordinate on, assist in prioritizing, and advising leadership on key acquisition or support activities within an organization.
Providing consultation across diverse functional areas to assist in formulating guidelines, and guidance on projects, studies, and action items; keeping leaders informed of critical developments and providing advice on the administrative aspects of various problems or situations that may arise.
Maintaining an office suspense roster and assigning actions based on the functions of directorates, divisions, or branches; initiating action to meet internal and external suspense actions and tracking progress of such actions; and ensuring full coordination of replies and organization positions.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the NH-04, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13) grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector.
Developing, adapting, modifying, and applying management principles and techniques to define, clarify, and/or resolve problems, and negotiating and defending findings and alternative solutions to management.
Applying qualitative and quantitative methods for assessment and improvement of various programs in an organization.
Demonstrating general knowledge of the Department of Defense acquisition mission, roles, and functions to coordinate on, assist in prioritizing, and advising leadership on key acquisition or support activities within an organization.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
