You will serve as a Administrative Support Specialist in the Western Area Counsel Office of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You will perform a variety of administrative support duties such as message traffic coordination, copying and assembling documents for attorneys, prepare office reports, scheduling and maintaining attorney and office calendars, etc.
You will requisition office supplies, equipment and publications.
You will assist Western Area Counsel Office staff in basic installation of hardware and software.
You will enhance the ability of the office to support overall mission requirements by using a variety of office automation software, developing methods for automating reports and determining the best software type for each report for data categories.
You will identify and determine problems and the corrective action to be taken in case of hardware/software and IT equipment failure or in circumstances when prescribed procedures will not produce desired results.
You will compose correspondence not involving technical or specific legal expertise to include official letters, reports, instructions, memoranda at the direction of the Counsel or Deputy.
You will maintain the office file system on the command SharePoint site and provide assistance to staff and attorneys entering and maintaining office files on SharePoint.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Troubleshooting IT systems to include software, hardware, communications, and equipment; 2) Advance knowledge and experience with the capabilities, operating characteristics and advanced functions of a variety of types of office automation software, e.g., word processing, calendar, electronic mail, electronic file management, spreadsheets, database, graphics, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.; 3) Locating and summarizing information from files and documents; 4) Knowledge of legal periodicals and bound volume legal research materials; and 5) Experience working in a legal setting.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
