You will serve as a IT SEPCIALIST (TECHINCAL INFORMATION OPERATIONS SPECIALIST) in the S-5 SPECIAL ACTIVITIES DIVISION (SAD) of THE MARINE CORPS INFORMATIONS OPERATIONS CENTER (MCIOC), MARINE CORPS INFORMATION COMMAND, (MCIC) MARINE FORCES COMMAND (MARFORCOM).

Duties

You will serve as Technical Information Operations Specialist within the S-5 Special Activities Division (SAD) of the Marine Corps Information Operations Center (MCIOC) You will develop and provide technical analysis of new and emerging Information related capabilities and emergent technologies. You will conduct comprehensive research and analysis of material acquisition documentation/activities for Information related systems. You will review directives, policies, programs, enterprise-wide functional user requirements and experimentation strategies for the information capabilities office. You will review directives, policies, programs, enterprise-wide functional user requirements and experimentation strategies related issues to determine impact and implications in support of systems, tools and technologies. You will interact with leading information related Services Naval, Department of Defense (DoD), Academic and Industrial research and development institutions.

• This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET-SCI security clearance.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include conducting on-site and remote information systems operations; performing analysis, design, development, testing, installation, configuration and monitoring of a variety of complex operating systems, and information security solutions. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include providing IT subject matter expertise, analysis and problem solving through appropriate use of oral, written, organization, coordination, and leadership skills. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include monitoring and optimizing network, database, server and application performance utilizing integrated and third-party enterprise management tools and utilities. Monitoring system event logs and analyze, troubleshooting and resolving system and user-reported errors/alerts to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of information systems. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in automated planning processes and combat material with a focus on identifying and planning for the integration of new and emerging technologies.
