These positions are located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health, Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy (OIDP) located in Rockville, MD or the Office of Regional Health Operations (ORHO) located in Atlanta, GA. Salary: The salary range indicated in this announcement will be adjusted to include locality payment for selected duty location. Duties

The OIDP - Rockville position will focus on providing programmatic, advisory, and technical leadership for OIDP initiatives involving planning, developing, and advising on national public health policies, program, and activities related to emerging science and public health issues - including, but not limited to viral hepatitis. The ORHO - Atlanta position will provide direct support to the OASH Region 4 - Regional Health Administrator, advising on regional and national public health policies, programs, and activities, as well as developing strategic planning and operational support for a diverse set of public health related efforts directed within the region. The incumbent will perform the following: Provides programmatic, advisory, and technical leadership for the initiatives involving planning, developing, and advising on national public health policies, programs, and activities related to emerging science and public health issues. Plans and manages a significant public health program or function directly related to the agency's mission. Writes with clarity and tact to communicate proposals, advocate positions. Makes formal presentations and convey information related to a wide range of public health issues and concerns, and effectively interact with agency staff, the professional community, and policy makers.

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Specialized Experience: GS-14: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-13 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing (3) of the (4) duties listed below: Providing advice to help various organizations improve their public health activities; Developing strategies, procedures, and/or guidelines for a public health program; Evaluating the effectiveness of public health program activities; Recommending improvements to public health program planning processes and/or performance.
