The primary job responsibilities include providing historic preservation support as an archaeologist or a buildings specialist for regional steady state and non-disaster FEMA grant funded projects; and as deployed will support of disaster declarations, including support of preliminary disaster assessments, IMAT teams, the RRCC, field offices, and processing centers. Serving as a Historic Preservation subject matter expert concerning the built environment and/or archaeological resources.

Qualifications

You qualify for this position at the IC-09 level if you possess the following:  One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-07) in the Federal Service.  This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.  Specialized experience for this position includes:  Applying strategies according to historic preservation laws or regulations;   Participating in the briefing of historic preservation policy or program concepts to stakeholders; and, Assisting with the development of historic preservation and/or Section 106 compliance documents, reports, or plans. ORMaster's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related ORCombination of education and experience You qualify for this position at the IC-11 level if you possess the following: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-09) in the Federal Service.  This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Managing, monitoring, evaluating, or implementing review for projects to ensure compliance with applicable historic preservation regulations, Executive Orders, and laws; Coordinating with stakeholders to research, inform, and make decisions about project alternatives considering adverse effects to historic resources; and, Developing historic preservation and/or Section 106 compliance documentation, reports and plans.
