Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a review systems specialist, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Plans, coordinates, develops, and oversees the peer and objective review of SAMHSA grants. Serves as the liaison between Review and CT specialists in formulating suggestions for the constantly developing systems in collaboration with IT specialists. Responsible for the administrative analysis and direct support services relative to the Division of the Grant Review. Serves as a resource to staff members resolving standardized operational problems improving overall effectiveness.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: GS-9 To qualify for this grants management position at the GS-09 level, you must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service performing at ALL of the following: Applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to the identify, consider, and resolve issues associated with grants. Using statistical software to handle data manipulations and analyses (i.e. database, spreadsheet and word processing software); Communicating both orally and writing to explain recommendations, respond to inquiries and prepare reports. OR Education Substitution: A master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR A combination of education and experience as described above. GS-11 To qualify for this grants management position at the GS-11 level, you must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level in the federal service performing at least ALL of the following: Applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to the identify, consider, and resolve issues associated with grants. Using statistical software to handle data manipulations and analyses (i.e., database, spreadsheet and word processing software); Communicating both orally and writing to explain recommendations, respond to inquiries and prepare reports.; and Interviewing employees and supervisors to develop information relevant to analytical projects. OR Education Substitution: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related. OR A combination of education and experience as described above. GS-12: To qualify for this grants management position at the GS-12 level, you must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal service performing at least ALL of the following: Applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to the identify, consider, and resolve issues associated with grants. Using statistical software to handle data manipulations and analyses (i.e. database, spreadsheet and word processing software); Communicating both orally and writing to explain recommendations, respond to inquiries and prepare reports. Interviewing employees and supervisors to develop information relevant to analytical projects. Performing Cost analysis and budget submission. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
