You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist (Customer Support) in the Information Technology & Cyber Security Department of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF).
Duties
You will serve as a senior level Information Technology (IT) Specialist responsible for planning and identifying IT service operational requirements for the command.
You will represent the command in contractor and customer interactions pertaining to IT services.
You will provide IT field engineering or senior technician services for specified areas of responsibility.
You will diagnose and resolve problems in response to customer reported incidents regarding a myriad of IT issues.
You will ensure the Command’s NMCI IT requirements are met.
You will provide advice, consultation, and technical expertise in identification of IT hardware, software, and infrastructure requirements.
You will utilize customer request and reporting systems to identify trends and develop metrics.
You will perform research, evaluation, and provide feedback on problem trends and patterns.
You will take action to mitigate identified problems and communicate necessary information to customers and Waterfront Production Support Branch management.
You will research and analyze, IT purchase requests to ensure they meet higher level command and Information Assurance requirements.
You will develop written communication to address issues impacting or provide guidance to users regarding processes or upcoming initiatives, and posts on Command Intranet.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 41, level Intermediate/Journeyman within 6 months of appointment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning and delivering information technology (IT) customer support functions (e.g. installation, configuration, troubleshooting, modifying, recovering) to remedy IT issues or optimize end users' information systems (e.g. software applications, hardware, operating systems, network). Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
