About the Position:
Position is with the US Army MSCoE Fielded Force Integration Directorate Protection Branch at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO.
Located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks.It covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, MO.Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St.Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Ft. Leonard Wood.
Duties
Edits, authors and co-authors non-doctrinal Protection Publications, including Special Texts, CALL Handbooks, white papers, ATTPs, Smartbooks, presentations, diagrams, graphic training aids, websites / collaborative sites and training documents.
Schedules and plans support to all applicable milestones.
Reviews and staffs internally/externally produced publications and documents that include Warfighting concepts, master plans, and charters for validity, clarity, organization, and consistency with all governing doctrinal publications and regulations.
Authors and/or reviews training publications and leader development materials to ensure that ideas are conveyed clearly in words, pictures, tables, graphs, and/or illustrations.
Develops training plans and ensures the latest technological developments relevant to instruction, graphics and publishing is utilized.
Coordinates security aspects for appropriate document classification and markings.
Responsible for the planning, coordination, and facilitation of MSCoE Protection based senior leader forums (Other than MEB).
Responsible for recurring external high visibility MSCoE Protection awareness engagements/campaigns requiring Protection based media for presentation, such as Maneuver conferences, Association of the US Army (AUSA) conferences, etc.
Participates as an active member of DA/TRADOC/Joint service/multi-national work groups, seminars, committees, and conferences where aspects of Protection concepts may be at issues.
Lead action officer for the maintenance and development of the Protection Net professional forum site located on Milsuite.
Prepares cost and time estimates for document preparation.
Requirements
- Must be able to maintain Secret clearance.
- This is a Term position NTE 3 Years.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience 1) Writing and editing practices, including style requirements to write for publications, Special Texts, Technical Manuals, Training Support Packages. 2) Knowledge of the Protection Warfighting Function in ANY Branch: Engineer, Military Police, CBRN, Air Defense, Cyber, Medical (Vet or Preventive Medicine). Explosive Ordinance Disposal EOD. 3) Experience creating briefings, graphics, information papers, instructional materials and editing websites using standard Microsoft programs 4) Experience presenting information and publics speaking. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12)
