You will serve as a FIREFIGHTER in the Fire, Rescue, Emergency Services Branch of MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CTR.

Duties
You will perform station, grounds, apparatus, and equipment maintenance.
You will carry out evacuation drills, reset sprinkler and local alarm systems.
You will participate in public education activities.
You will perform engine company inspections.
You will be required to perform the duties of relief engineer.
You will be requires to maintain certification to drive and operate firefighting vehicles.
You will respond to structure fires and wild-land fires.
You will respond to medical emergencies and provide for the rescue and on-scent stabilization for victim of fire.
Requirements

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You must be willing and able to work a Shift Work schedule. A Shift Work schedule describes work performed with varying and/or rotating shifts.
- You must be willing and able to work an uncommon tour of duty (may include weekend, nights, overtime, or holidays).
- You must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- This position requires completion of a California State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT/AED) or recertification program, Firefighter I, Hazardous Material Awareness, and Hazardous Material Operations certification at the time of hire.
- You must be willing and able to obtain an Inland County Emergency Medical Agency (ICEMA) certification within 60 days of hire
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final CONFIDENTIAL security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: serving as a Firefighter responding to fires and fire related emergencies involving structures, aircraft, motor vehicles, wild land, and hazardous materials, AND administering emergency care.
GS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-03 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting the in performance of engine company inspections, monitoring for infractions in relation to local alarm and sprinkler systems, power, water and gas shutoffs, OR monitoring and storing hazardous materials; AND responding to structure files, serving as a hydrantman, hoseman, or ladder man; AND making forcible entry into in structures on fire, where necessary.

Education
The following education may be a substitute for qualifying experience:
GS-05:
4-year course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree
OR
Possess a combination of specialized experience and education that equates to one year of experience.
GS-04:
2 years above high school with related course work.
