As a Information Technology Project Manager at the GS-2210-14, you will be part of OIG Management Programs Office of Personnel Management. If selected, you will be responsible for serving as a project manager in translating complex, technical information on digital modernization efforts in support of OIG's mission. You will also take part in the formulation of OIG's IT short- and long-range plans and goals.
Duties
Evaluate the technical and functional impact of the introduction of new products and techniques and advises on their supportability and capabilities.
Identify and resolve highly intricate problems that cross organizational boundaries and states solutions.
Lead implementation teams researching and developing recommendations for major modifications to established operations to improve efficiency or operational performance.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements: You must have Information Technology (IT) related experience that demonstrates proficiency in each of the following competencies. Do you have:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, considering the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Additional requirements:
For the GS14: You must have You must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the private or public sector) performing ALL of the following tasks: 1) developing a monitoring process to ensure compliance with agency procedures and optimize information system security; 2) performing annual reviews and updates to organizational policies and procedures to ensure alignment with current environment and security requirements; 3) providing guidance on IT projects that involve addressing complex technical issues, high level negotiations or development of solutions to difficult problems.
Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS 14 level.
