About the Position: This is a Military Technician position with the 84th Training Command G1 located at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Duties

Responsible for accomplishing and directing the military personnel management functions. Provide guidance and assistance on personnel matters to subordinate elements of the Command. Responsible for coordinating civilian personnel matters with the Command. Initiate and recommend action to implement programs designed to provide optimum manning and personnel support to the command. Serve as a technical advisor to the Commander and staff on personnel programs. Provide assistance to subordinate units on military personnel matters and makes periodic, special visits and inspections. Maintain liaison with higher headquarters on matters relating to administrative functions. Review personnel action requests submitted to ensure compliance with policies and regulations. Coordinate civilian personnel matters, prepares statistical reports on civilian personnel. Coordinate training requirements of civilian employees and acts as liaison for the employee, when needed. Assist subordinate units as necessary with the Civilian Personnel Office. Develops command budgetary input relative to military personnel administration operations. Review and interpret regulations, directives, and reports pertinent to military personnel functions. Review incoming regulations and prepares written instructions relating to administration of military.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing guidance on military personnel matters; providing technical advice on military human resources management programs such as retirement services and survivor benefits, accessions, separations, strength management, personnel readiness, retention, awards, and military personnel actions; and analyzing, developing and recommending solutions to identified military personnel problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or e full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as such as Human Resource Management or Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
