You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the Spectrum Warfare Department/ Information Technology & Cyber Security Division Cyber Security Assurance & Compliance Division of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Duties

You will be responsible for developing and distributing weekly or as-needed project status updates and creating and using workflow tools to ensure seamless action management and completion. You will provide authoritative advice as required to support the Chief of Staff and Deputy Technical Director in planning and execution of Command operations activities. You will be responsible for identifying, scoping, coordinating, and executing engagement opportunities for Senior Leadership and Front Office team. You will be counted on to exchange information, identify problems, propose solutions, and defend recommendations on controversial issues to all levels at the activity and, at times, to other activities and higher-level headquarters. You will perform project management at the Command level, organize and present data, track/manage details, and clearly communicate complicated situations to senior leaders.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for STRL Demo jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower pay band. This requirement is called time-in-band. Time-in-band requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area XXXX level XX within 12 months of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

To Qualify for the DS-05 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (DS-04=GS 11/12) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) leading a team of IT professionals; 2) performing cybersecurity support for a DoD/DON acquisition program/laboratory; 3) Extensive knowledge of DoD/DON cybersecurity processes and policies, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and authorization documentation requirements; 4) Experience managing cybersecurity for Enclave Zone B, C, and D laboratory configurations 5) Application of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process. To Qualify for the DS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Performing responsibilities related to cybersecurity compliance, technical support and customer service; 2) Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) reporting; 3) performing cybersecurity support for a DoD/DON acquisition program/laboratory; 4) applying knowledge of DoD/DON cybersecurity processes and policies, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and authorization documentation requirements; 5) Application of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process; 6) managing cybersecurity for Enclave Zone B, C, and D laboratory configurations.
