About the Position: Serves as deputy or division chief of assigned area accomplishing work through a group of professional, technical, and support personnel.
Duties
Ensures compliance with policies and recommends policy changes to fit requirements of systems.
Represents the organization on high level boards, committees, and study groups regarding logistics management issues.
Provides high level managers and military planner’s background information, planning rationales, and alternatives.
Develops performance standards.
Directs, develops, and/or implements logistics policies, processes, initiatives, and/or programs for major, highly complex weapon systems in the areas of Logistics Support.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance for the duration of employment
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP) position. Selectee must execute a written tenure agreement to remain in Federal service in the position for at least three years.
- Selectee must meet the DoDI 5000.66 requirements applicable to the Career Category of Life Cycle Logistics and Advanced Career Level III Certification must be met within 48 months.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year trial/probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

Specialized Experience: One year experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service that includes: 1) Applying advanced concepts, principles, practices, and regulations pertaining to the field of logistics management related to weapon system project/programs; 2) Logistics Contract Experience to support requirements, Budget planning/execution; and 3) Providing leadership or managing logistics supply and maintenance, weapon system programming and allocation while overseeing materiel acquisition policy to integrate the separate logistics functions.
