Duties

Serve as source of expertise providing customer support for problem solving. Serves as a problem solver and advisor in providing support to users of IT Equipment Serves as a troubleshooter for OS software problems, or application interface issues of an unusual or difficult nature. Reviews installed systems and diagnoses problems encountered in the use of them. Conduct trend analyses to identify areas where additional customer training and assistance is needed. Develops, interprets, plans, and applies policy, processes, procedures in the delivery of multi-disciplined IT services.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • May be required to travel TDY 15% of the time.
  • Will be required to pass a pre-employment physical.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes planning and implementing customer support service covering all state-of-the-art IT equipment, software, systems, interfaces and networks. Leading rapid response teams in response to customer service problems. My specialized experience includes, or was supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Information Technology Customer SupportProblem SolvingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
