About the Position: You will serve as a senior Traffic Management Specialist in the 12th Aviation Battalion, Aviation Flight Operations Office.

Duties

Near and long-term planning, coordination, and scheduling of the 12th Aviation Battalion Helicopter assets. Maintain an accurate record of all information pertaining to each mission in accordance with AR 95-1. Review and verify validity of air support requests by coordinating with offices of senior ranking government and military officials traveling on official business and for large group movements. Monitor 12th Aviation Battalion Flying Hour Program for thirty-four (34) UH-60 Black Hawk aircraft. Compute flight cost data. Provide required orientations concerning requirements of pertinent OSA and traffic management directives.

Requirements

Specialized Experience Required: One year of specialized experience which includes knowledge of a wide range of traffic management policies, principals, and practices as it pertains to flight operations requirements, airfield suitability, aircraft performance capabilities and restrictions; ability to identify, analyze, and resolve air transportation issues or problems; prevent and solve international mission planning crises involving air transportation operational issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral CommunicationPlanning and EvaluatingTransportation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
