About the Position: Serves as a Human Resources Specialist (Military) in the HQ Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) advising and managing all aspects of the military personnel management program.

Duties

Plan and coordinate the formulation of policies and programs for highly sensitive officer personnel management actions and programs. Participate in Manpower Management functions for the military position on all TDA’s. Interpret highly complex Army, Navy, and Air Force policies, regulations, and procedures for Staff officials, subordinate commanders, and/or officer personnel. Analyze impact on authorizations concerning reorganizations, new service directives, and/or change in qualification requirements for military personnel. Prepare operating procedures and directives to manage the training program and/or training program budget. Plan, initiate, and/or monitor the training program for active component military personnel assigned to serviced units worldwide. Provide training program guidance to subordinate commands. Process information into Total Officer Personnel Management Information System (TOPMIS) and/or other Human Resource systems.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Incumbent may be required to travel up to 15% to perform duties/attend training.
  • This is a Term position scheduled to last 13 Months. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.
  • This a position obligated to another employee. When that employee returns you will be required to vacate the position.
  • Incumbent may be required to serve a 1-year Term trial period.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing a military personnel management program for all officer and enlisted personnel assigned to serviced organizations; and analyzing military position structures to determine proper grade and/or Military Occupational Specialties. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: HR Information Systems ApplicationPersonnel and Human ResourcesProblem SolvingTraining and Training Support Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-???????11).
