You will serve as a TRANSPORATION ASSISTANT (AIR OPERATIONS) in the COMMAND AND CONTROL BRANCH of NAVAL AIR TERMINAL.

Duties

You will provide operational and technical data to Air Mobility Command (AMC) and subordinate unit command duty officers regarding aircraft mission and ground handling. You will maintain a current plot of tropical storms and hurricanes that pose a serious threat to flight safety. You will use computer programs (e.g., Global Air Transportation Execution Systems [GATES], Joint Air Logistics System [JALIS], Navy Interface for Command Email [NICE], Global Decision Support System 2 [GDSSII]) for continuous data retrieval.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interpreting and applying policies, directives, and procedures pertaining to international and domestic aircraft flight operations; 2) Communicating error-free messages related to aircraft movement, cargo loads, and sensitive/hazardous materials shipped at en route stations and final destination; 3) Performing duties of Weapon Storage Attendants by securely storing weapons and providing guidance/ escort to aircrews while weapons are being handled in compliance with DoD directives; and 4) Advising appropriate officials and superiors of any accidents, near miss incidents, emergencies, and/or dropped items involving an aircraft.
